Pack odds, pity and duplicates
Mechanic
Pack pages show base odds. Pity and foil overrides can change an opening’s result.
Separate counters
Cards, pins and keychains maintain separate pity counters for each player. The game compares the previous counter to the threshold before incrementing it. Only one pity effect is activated during an opening.
| Pity | Cards | Pins / keychains |
|---|---|---|
| Epic | 27 | 3 |
| Ultra | 166 | 4 |
| Foil | 20 | 5 |
| Whole-pack foil | 300 | 10 |
Pity priority
Card openings, manual pin openings and keychain openings check whole-pack foil, then single foil, Ultra and Epic. The automatic opener’s pin path checks Ultra, Epic, whole-pack foil and single foil.
A forced single foil applies to the final reward. For manual pins and keychains, natural foil rolls remain possible on other rewards.
Duplicate pins
A pin with the same design and foil as one already owned, or one already received in that opening, returns cash.
The refund is current average pack cost ÷ 6 × 0.5 × the foil value multiplier, with a minimum of zero. Manual and automatic opening use the same refund rule.
